Chattanooga Public Works truck involved in crash with pickup

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A City of Chattanooga Public Works truck was involved in a crash Tuesday morning.

The crash happened in the 3000 block of Wilcox Boulevard at 9:20 a.m.

Chattanooga Police said a Chevrolet Silverado truck was partially pinned under the back of the Public Works truck.

The driver of the Chevrolet was a 57-year-old man. He was removed from the truck without injuries, CPD said.

However, the Chattanooga Fire Department had to extricate the 29-year-old passenger from the truck.

First responders took him to a local hospital. CPD said he had serious injuries that were not life-threatening.

The Chattanooga Police Department is still investigating the crash.
