Chattanooga resident to testify on AI impact on veterans’ healthcare

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – An artificial intelligence expert who resides in Chattanooga will be testifying on the technology’s impact on veteran’s healthcare this week to Congress. 

Prashant Natarajan is the Vice President for healthcare analytics of H2O AI and moved to Chattanooga with his family four years ago.

He will be giving testimony this upcoming Thursday at 10 a.m. EST to the Veterans Affairs Committee exploring the topic of A-I and its impact on veteran’s healthcare.

Natarajan says he plans to highlight the ways AI can shore up shortcomings that are present now in the V-A and discuss some of his current research into the topic.

He said, “We are looking at using at using Image A-I and generative A-I and large vision models in order to quickly and more accurately diagnose traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder for veterans and for those that serve our country today.”

He added that AI can be used to help patch up administrative holes that he is concerned is leaving some veterans behind in terms of access to care.
