Chattanooga rolls out new on demand brush collection system
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Department of Public Works has made a new way of collecting brush piles.
Residents can now dial 311 to request a pickup. They can also email 311@chattanooga.gov, or submit a service request on the 311 app.
Once the request is submitted, residents will be given a time between one to eight business days as to when the brush will be collected.
This on-demand change was first applied to bulk trash.
Residents seemed to really like this method, so the department of public works implemented it to brush.
The Chattanooga Department of Public Works has a few reminders to address when it comes to requesting a pickup:
- Brush must be assembled at only one location adjacent to or on the property where it was generated.
- Place Brush separate from other items and at least 5 feet away from parked cars, mailboxes, and all other objects.
- Do not place brush over water meters or under low-hanging wires.
- Do not place brush in alleyways
This new system will take affect no later than August 12, 2024.
