Chattanooga sees disruptions from national flight groundings
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The U.S. flight system got another shock to the system on Wednesday morning.
Thousands of flights were either delayed or cancelled.
This time it was a computer outage by the Federal Aviation Administration in a system where pilots have to notify them before taking off.
The President says they don’t know if a cyberattack could have caused it, but is asking the Department of Transportation to investigate.
The system resumed operation around 9 AM, but not before 4,300 flights were delayed and 800 cancelled.
Here in Chattanooga, about a half dozen flights were delayed while two flights from Chicago and Charlotte were cancelled.
