Chattanooga Skatepark, Dog Park Renovation

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The City of Chattanooga celebrated the official groundbreaking for the renovation of ChattTown Skatepark and Chew Chew Dog Park today.

This $4.4 million project will transform the popular spaces into a modern, family-friendly amenity area.

The renovations will include a multimodal skatepark, a redesigned dog park, event space, new bathrooms, and a state-of-the-art concrete skatepark designed by California Skateparks, a world leader in skatepark design.

Construction begins immediately, with the project expected to be completed by Fall 2026.

Today’s groundbreaking celebration featured city officials, local skate and community partners, free giveaways, food, drinks, and a DJ.

Residents joined in front of the existing skatepark to mark the start of construction and hear remarks about the project’s impact on the community.

During construction, the hockey rink and pavilion parking lot will remain open to the public.

The City thanks the community for its support and patience as it works to deliver a modern recreational space for families and skate enthusiasts alike.
