Chattanooga woman gets 15-year prison sentence for fentanyl death
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Hamilton County woman will soon spend 15 years in prison for delivering the fentanyl that killed Jonathan Daniel Jones.
Connie Marie Wood appeared in court on October 27 and pleaded guilty to second degree murder.
District Attorney Coty Wamp explained that 41-year-old Wood delivered fentanyl to Jones in 2022. And Hamilton County authorities arrested her on January 8, 2023.
According to Wamp, “two times the number of people die from overdose in our country each year than deaths related to firearms.”
The Chattanoogan reported on Jones’ passing, which they say happened on April 30, 2022. They say he was 45 years old and a talented musician.
