Chattanooga Women Thrash Tennessee Tech 70-45
(gomocs.com) Chattanooga women’s basketball came away with a 70-45 win on the road at Tennessee Tech Wednesday night. The Mocs defeated the defending OVC champions in their home opener. UTC improves to 3-1 overall and Tennessee Tech falls to 0-2.
Former Golden Eagle Jada Guinn led the Mocs with 15 points and had five rebounds. Karsen Murphy added in 14 and Raven Thompson chipped in 12 with five boards. She was 6-of-6 from the free throw line and had three assists and three steals. Hannah Kohn was 3-of-4 from the 3-point line for 12 points on the night.
Chattanooga shot 53.5% (23-43) from the field and 5-12 (41.7%) from the 3-point line while making 19-of-20 from the charity stripe.
The Mocs reeled off 18 points before allowing TTU to get on the board with just a field goal in the opening quarter.
Chattanooga returns home to host UVA Wise on Saturday, November 18. Tip off at 3 p.m. at the Roundhouse.
