Chattanooga Zoo hosts Asian Lantern Festival

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Asian Lantern Festival, Forest of Fantasy, kicks off November 21 with our friends at the Chattanooga Zoo.

Communications Director Jake Cash says visitors can expect to see an entirely new collection of lanterns this year, featuring dragons, mythical creatures, and forest animals.

Although the event takes place at night, it is family-friendly and open to all ages.

The zoo will even welcome guests on Thanksgiving, inviting the community to celebrate this magical tradition together.

Jake Cash explained, “We bring a totally new collection of lanterns to the zoo every winter to create a brand new experience. Visitors can tour the zoo at night and view hundreds of glowing lantern displays that make up 50 distinct scenes. It’s fun for the whole family and one of the most unique holiday light displays in Chattanooga. You’ll see dragons, mythical creatures, Santa Claus, enchanted snowmen, Christmas trees, and sparkling lights—definitely something everyone will enjoy.”

The event runs from November 21 through January 17, with each visit offering a unique holiday experience.
