Chattanoogans can expect delays due to road closures beginning Friday

CHATTANOOGA Tenn. (WDEF)- Road closures will make some major changes throughout Chattanooga, causing traffic delays on the interstate from Ooltewah all the way to downtown.

As Chattanooga accommodates to its growing population, there are many things that need to adjusted- with one big concern being the roads.

Friday after 9 PM, Exit 184 on I-24 Eastbound to Moore Road will be closed.

Similarly, Exit 183A on I-24 Westbound to Belvoir Avenue will also be closed.

Crews will begin the I-24/I-75 Interchange Phase II Project to construct a bridge closure and replacement project at Moore and McBrien Roads.

Beginning Sunday, there will be nightly lane closures on I-24 and the I-24 West off-ramp to US27 North.

All of these projects will update and replenish Chattanooga’s growing, busier roads- whether it’s storm drain installation, milling, paving, concrete repair work or even bridge replacement, they are all vital for the success of the growing city.

Remember to drive safely and stay informed with changes you may have to make to your regular commute.
