Chattanooga’s drivers still face dangerous road conditions

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – With most of the snow and ice now gone from our community roadways, it would be nice to think we could go back to less hazardous driving conditions. But not so fast.
With many areas of dense fog and flood watch conditions in many areas, we’ve traded the perils of ice and snow for flood and fog.
Flooding must be taken seriously, especially in low-lying areas.
When combined with the reduced visibility from fog, that means double danger for driving conditions.
Many waterways are already almost at capacity, and with much more rain predicted, these dangers can quickly creep up on you.
The road signs warning “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” should be heeded, and as always giving yourself extra driving time and remaining aware of your surrounding can literally save lives.
