Chattooga County commissioner charged with simple battery

CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) —  The sole commissioner of Chattooga County, Georgia faces a criminal charge over dispute on the road.

A man driving a cattle hauler says Andy Allen grabbed him by the shirt and threatened to pull him out of his truck.

The driver had backed up traffic on Little Sand Mountain Road trying to back the hauler into a farm.

Because of his elected office, local authorities recused themselves from investigating it.

Finally, Allen was issued a warrant for simple battery on Wednesday and arrested.

He’ll face a court hearing this summer.
