Chattooga County house fire leaves three pets deceased
CHATTOOGA COUNTY — A Chattooga County house fire has left three pets deceased and the home severely damaged.
They say the structure was approximately 40% involved with heavy fire venting from the roof and front entrance.
All occupants were out of the building but noted several pets still inside. Three pets were found during a search of the house.
Two dogs were removed and CPR was preformed for several minutes.
GFD says the third pet was found later during salvage and overhaul operations and removed from the structure. All three of the pets removed did not survive.
They say four of the home’s occupants were transported by Floyd EMS for smoke inhalation and noted as in stable condition.
The cause of the fire was noted as electrical in nature starting at the electric water heater, according to GFD.
