Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office discover over a year old decomposing body in a residence

CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office discover a decomposing body inside a residence.

On Monday, December 8, Deputies and Investigators from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence south of Holland off Highway 100 regarding the discovery of a deceased body inside of a residence.

Upon arrival, a decomposing body was discovered. The preliminary findings suggest the person was deceased for a long time, possibly for longer than a year.

The investigation is still in the early stages and attempts to find and notify next of kin have begun.

There were no signs of forced entry and it appears the resident lived alone.
