Checking out the prices for the new Riverbend Festival

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – After Riverbend’s announcement Thursday on the change’s to this year’s festival, we have gotten a lot of questions about the price.

Riverbend officials warned us the price is going up to bring in better entertainers.

But when they posted this price schedule, it didn’t look so bad.

RiverbendStill people are wondering what the Tiers are all about.

We asked folks at the Friends of the Festival about that. And they explain the Tiers are just lots of tickets.  The earlier you buy them, the cheaper your ticket will be.  So on Monday, you’ll pay the $60 Tier 1 price.  When those run out, you have to get Tier 2, and so on.

These prices are for tickets to the entire festival.

So how good of a deal is it?

We checked out the prices on Ticketmaster to see Keith Urban this year.  He is on tour in Europe and then returns to the U.S. this spring for festival dates, including Riverbend.

Here are some prices:

$68 March 3rd     Amsterdam (cheap seats)

$72 March 9th     Glasgow (cheapest seats)

$155 April 1st      Nashville Loretta Lynn Birthday Concert

$188 June 7th      Hunter, NY Taste of County 3 day pass

$125 June 21       Chicago County LakeShake 3 day pass

____

So a Tier 1 pass beats all of these Keith Urban individual and festival prices.  Plus the other acts still to be named.
