Cherokee County man arrested for alleged indecent liberties with a child
CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WDEF) — A 34-year-old Cherokee County man has been arrested for having alleged indecent liberties with a child.
On July 8, 2025, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) detectives launched an investigation after receiving reports of possible inappropriate contact between an adult male and a juvenile.
CCSO said after reviewing evidence, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Joshua James Dean.
On July 18, 2025, Dean was located and arrested without incident.
Dean is being charged with three counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.
He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and given a $15,000 bond.
