Cherokee County man arrested on multiple counts of child exploitation
CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WDEF) — Authorities in Cherokee County have arrested a man for child exploitation charges.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about images being uploaded of child sexual abuse material.
Investigators later determined the suspect who allegedly uploaded the images was 39-year-old Corey Sneed.
On August 15, 2025, CCSO and multiple other agencies executed a search warrant at Sneed’s residence.
During the search, authorities located and seized several electronic devices.
According to CCSO, multiple files containing child sexual abuse material were located on the devices.
Sneed was arrested and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center under two bonds, one of $100,000 secured and the other being “no bond”.
Sneed is being charged with 1o counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and 10 counts of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
