CHI Memorial breaks ground on new North Georgia hospital
CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga (WDEF) – CHI Memorial finally broke ground on their new North Georgia hospital on Friday.
Their new location will be on Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold, Georgia.
“This is a big day. We’re celebrating today we are bringing a brand-new, cutting-edge hospital to the north Georgia community in Walker, Catoosa and Dade counties. So, it is a big day for celebration.” said Angie Stiggins, Site Administrator of CHI Memorial Georgia.
In 2022, CHI Memorial was granted their certificate of need from the state’s Department of Community Health.
Angie Stiggins with CHI Memorial believes the new hospital will grow the community.
“It is important to this community to have a new hospital because that drives industry changes,” Stiggins said. “It drives growth to the community. And it’s very important for just the overall well-being of the community.”
According to CHI Memorial, the new hospital will serve as the third smart hospital in the state of Georgia.
Andrew McGill, who is the Senior Vice President of CHI Memorial, says folks will be able to receive treatment closer to home.
“If you can be here, near where you live, the healing experience is going to be better. This quality is going to be better for you because your friends and your family are able to come to you in the hospital and be a part of that,” said Mcgill.
The new hospital will have 64 inpatient beds, five operating rooms, a full-service emergency room and more.
McGill looks forward to what the new hospital will deliver to patients in the near future.
“When we took over operations for the hospital over on Gross Crescent circle, back in 2018. We made the commitment that day, we’re going to build a new hospital. It has taken a while. We are just excited that now we can deliver on that commitment,” McGill concluded.
