Chief Murphy announces first round of police appointments
32 year veteran Nathan Vaughn will be her Chief of Staff
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga’s new police chief announces appointments to her command staff.
Chief Celeste Murphy says this is the first round of promotions this year.
The next round will involve the ranks of captain, lieutenant and sergeant after they have been evaluated.
The Chief is adding the rank of major to give an additional layer of accountability.
Each major will report directly to an assistant chief, except Major Jerri Sutton of public affairs who will report directly to Chief Murphy.
The chief of staff will lead the executive staff on daily goals.
