CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A man is facing a litany of charges following a crash which injured a three-year-old child.

A Hamilton County affidavit states that David Brown was driving erratically along Rossville Boulevard, including on sidewalks.

After almost hitting other vehicles, he then crashed into a barrier on Highway 27 northbound.

A witness to the crash told police when that crash happened, he saw, “a baby go flying inside of the car.”

That child was taken to a hospital for head injuries and their condition is unknown.

Police say that Brown claimed to have been driving erratically to, “hand his child a toy.”

However, he did admit to having nearly a gram of fentanyl along with four Xanax pills inside of his vehicle.

Brown is facing 8 charges including felony vehicular assault.
