Choo Choo Chorus performs for Barbershop Quartet Day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Choo Choo Chorus performed for residents at NHC Healthcare for National Barbershop Quartet Day.
Thursday is also the anniversary of the Barbershop Harmony Association.
The Choo Choo Chorus performed as a way to give back.
The chorus sing to put a smile on the people’s faces.
“It warms our heart to be able to get out and sing for other people. We know it makes a difference. Everybody knows music just makes everybody feel good. So, if we can make their day, feel better and brighter it makes us happy too. It’s just a win-win situation,” said Pete Jones, member of the Choo Choo Chorus.
The Choo Choo Chorus takes part in community-wide events.
They also rehearse at Ponder’s Funeral Home every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. They say all rehearsals are open to the public for free.
This group is part of the Chattanooga Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
The Chorus describes itself as “A place to join in song, fellowship, and fun! Male voices blended in 4-part barbershop harmony, with romantic melodies and entertaining humor that appeals to a wide variety of audiences.”
