City of Dalton announces six roads to be repaved

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The City of Dalton is planning to repave six roads starting next week.

This road work will begin on Monday, October 23. Crews will begin repaving South Hamilton Street starting at Brickyard Road.

The city says they will eventually include Fairfield Drive, Sheffield Place, Kingsridge Drive, Westchester Drive and Eleventh Avenue as well.

Road crews will mostly be working during the day. Motorists can expect temporarily lane closures in these areas, according to the city.

They are asking drivers to slow down and be extra cautious when going through work zones.

In addition, the Public Works Department would like residents in these areas to turn off their yard sprinklers. They also ask residents not to put brush, debris or garbage in the street during this time.

This is an annual resurfacing project, which the city expects to wrap up around spring of 2024.

The work will include milling, resurfacing, adding thermoplastic pavement markings and installing raised pavement markers.
