EAST RIDGE — The City of East Ridge is advising locals of planned roadway safety improvements scheduled to take place on Thursday May 14, 2026 on Belvoir Avenue between Fountain Avenue and Belvoir Circle, according to the City of East Ridge.

The work will be between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

This work includes the installation of approximately 400 L.F. of guardrail along the northbound shoulder of Belvoir Avenue (“S” curves).  They say this work is a part of the City’s annual resurfacing program and is the first in a series of planned safety improvements for the Belvoir Avenue “S” curves.

Belvoir Avenue will remain open during the guardrail installation, however, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers in the temporary work zone.

Motorists should seek alternate routes during this period to avoid delays.

Additional safety improvements in the upcoming weeks include the addition of raised/reflective pavement markings (RPM’s), thermoplastic striping, and additional signage. They say these planned safety improvements are intended to provide additional advance warning of the “S” curves and the 20 MPH speed limit.
