Cleveland Hardwick clothing plant closing down
Local suit maker's history goes back 140 years
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Cleveland Daily Banner reports that Hardick Tactical is closing it’s Cleveland plant.
The company used to be Hardwick Clothes, a local men’s clothing line that goes back more than 100 years in Cleveland.
They were trying to transition from making dress suits to military uniforms.
Management says they could not overcome the impact of COVID-19 on the business.
129 employees will lose their jobs.
Mayor Kevin Brooks tells the newspaper that the plant on old Tasso Road should not remain vacant for very long.
