Cleveland Middle School unveils new mural
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — Cleveland Middle School unveiled a new mural Tuesday morning.
This mural is in the main hall of the school and will be visible to all students and faculty.
The mural highlights the different upbringings we all have, as well as our heritage.
Cleveland Middle School principal, Nat Akiona, says this mural shows Cleveland’s diversity.
“They have access to a greater worldview through relationships and friendships they may have in the classroom. This is from students but also several of our staff members. Our staff is a diverse gathering of individuals. We have staff members who spent their childhood in Indonesia, Costa Rica, Swaziland. We represent a diverse group of educators as well.”

The goal for the mural is to hopefully expand through the halls.
Each expansion represents a continent and the people who come from there.
