Cleveland Police investigate shooting on Victory Street

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Cleveland Police Department says that 30 year old Jessica Elizabeth Whaley was found with a gunshot wound to the chest.

She died at the hospital.

37 year old Chadesha Dejoy Jones was charged with reckless homicide and was transported to the Bradley Co. Justice Center.

Cleveland Police say they are investigating a shooting that happened on Victory Street at 3:41 PM Wednesday.

They say they responded a gunshot call and a victim was transported to a local hospital.

There is a person of interest that has been detained for questioning.

The Criminal Investigations Division is handling this as a major crime scene.
