Cleveland resident prepares for Independence Day in a unique way

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – In a heartwarming display of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, a resident of Cleveland has captured the community’s attention with a unique and striking tribute to our nation.

“The lady across the road says that when she comes in and is not feeling good, she can open her window and look at the flag,” said resident Bill Owens.

The flag incorporates miniature flashing lights, which are synchronized to mimic the stars and stripes flying in the breeze.

Bill’s flag has become a beacon of American pride. He has been lighting up his neighborhood for years.

For him, it’s a way to honor our vets.

“It makes me feel good a night knowing I can look out the window and look down and see my flag. I’ve got lights all the way up the driveway, my wife says it looks like a landing.” says Owens.

Bill’s flag has become a local attraction. He plans to keep the flag lit up throughout the holiday weekend and long after that.
