Cleveland road rage incident leads to shots fired

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A road rage incident turned violent when one individual began firing shots.

At 4:30  p.m., October 23, 2o24, the Cleveland Police Department (CPD) were dispatched to the 2700 block of South Lee Highway for an armed subject call.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with minor damages.

CPD reported a crash occurred involving a 2011 Honda Fit and an older model Volkswagen Jetta, on APD 40.

Both vehicles came to a stop on the APD 40 ramp on South Lee Highway.

The operator of the Honda Fit exited the vehicle, and during the confrontation, began shooting a Ruger 9mm at the Volkswagen.

Officers were able to locate the shooter in the woods near the ramp.

CPD also reported the operator appeared to be intoxicated.

They were transported to Bradley Medical Center for a medical condition unrelated to this incident.

No injures were reported from either driver involved from the incident.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
