Cleveland’s International Paper permanently closing in December
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — The International Paper plant in Cleveland, Tennessee will permanently close in December of 2024.
Tennessee’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development released a WARN notice for the plant Monday, October 21, 2024.
International Paper alerted the Tennessee Department of Labor and Development’s Dislocated Worker Unit October 18, 2024.
“The plan is that the machines and associated operations will permanently shut down by the middle of December 2024. The first employees will begin terminating employment on or about December 16, 2024,” stated International Paper.
A total of 115 employees will be affected by this closure.
There has not been any information released yet regarding the reason for the plant’s closure.
