Cleveland’s Lauren Hurst Signs With the Lady Vols
Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) Cleveland high school senior Lauren Hurst is one of the top female athletes in the state of Tennessee.
On Monday, she announced she’s staying in the Volunteer State to play college basketball.
During a signing ceremony at Cleveland, Hurst did the shirt reveal…showing that she is headed to the University of Tennessee.
Her brother Grant is already on the men’s basketball team at UT.
Hurst led the Lady Raiders to the state basketball tournament last year for the first time in well over a decade.
She’s also a stand-out volleyball player…winning the state’s Gatorade volleyball player of the year award.
Now she hopes to play both sports at Tennessee.
Said Hurst:”Tennessee wasn’t the only school that’s letting me do both. It didn’t really come down to that in just the two-sport thing. It was a big decision. I’m still going to pursue it, but I’m not 100 percent sure. Definitely looking forward to trying it.”
