Coahulla Creek Enjoying Most Successful Year in School History
Dalton, GA-(WDEF-TV) Coahulla Creek’s football team has never finished above 500 for the season.
This year not only does that look like it will happen, the Colts have already broken a school record.
News 12s Brian Armstrong hears from the team that has made a big change on the football field.
Said head coach Danny Wilson:”Our kids understand their athletic program and have respect for it.”
Coahulla creek is off to its best start in school history at 5-1. The 5 wins this year has already eclipses last years total number of win of 4. In fact, 5 wins is already a all time school record for wins in a season.
Said Wilson:”As old as I am you try to learn to celebrate every victory and every mile stone.”
Coach Wilson says setting a new school record give the community another thing to embrace.
Said Wilson:”Reaching out of something that’s great for the school, great for the community, and obviously it continues to build momentum and excitement.”
The senior class when they were juniors last year lead Coahulla to a school record in wins and this season the senior class is making even a bigger statement.
Said quarterback Kace Kinnamon:”I think for all the guys been really good. The moment we have right now is really carrying over.”
They’ve embraced that role. They’ve learned is it gone how to lead them to step up and not wait on things but to do them.
Other school are taking notice that this is not a a Coahulla Creek team of the past.
Said Ringgold coach Robert Akins:”They’re a different team. They’re a team that’s five and one which is the most ones I’ve had in a season. There are great football team that are very skilled athletes they’re good at front there’s a solid all the way across. Coach has done a great job with them.”
