Cohutta officers find meth in toy during traffic stop
COHUTTA, Ga. (WDEF) — The Cohutta Police Department arrested two people Tuesday evening, one of which had felony warrants and the other possessed a toy with meth inside.
The first arrest happened on Red Clay Road near Pleasant Valley. The police department said officers found a subject with felony warrants out of Cherokee County, Georgia. They took that person into custody without incident.
Shortly thereafter, an officer made a traffic stop at the intersection of Red Clay Road and Wolfe Street.
There were three people in that vehicle. According to police, two of them were on felony probation/parole for narcotics.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a monkey toy, which had meth inside.
The police department stated they arrested the suspect and charged them accordingly. They added, “DCS was also contacted for follow-up with the two vehicle occupants on state supervision as required by law.”
Officers warn the public, sometimes toys are more than what they appear to be. This “toy” could have been deadly if a child got it.
