Cohutta police officer arrested

WHITFIELD CO. Ga. (WDEF) –

Whitfield County Sheriff has confirmed that a Cohutta Police Officer is now in the Whitfield County Jail.

Records say Steven Thorton faces multiple charges including aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm under in the influence.

Thorton was arrested today in Whitfield County.
