Commission approves legal expenses for Wamp/Taylor battle

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The bill has come due for the Weston Wamp & Rheubin Taylor legal battle.

The Hamilton County Commission on Wednesday approved spending a total of $290,000 on legal bills for the lawsuit.

When Mayor Wamp took office, he tried to fire County Attorney Taylor and hire his own.

But the commission defended Taylor, saying he worked for them, not the mayor.

The case went to court before both sides decided to drop the case.

Taylor remains the county attorney.

The more than $200,000 spending is also coming from taxpayer dollars.
