Commissioner Eversole proposes South Broad projects meeting
South Broad Project meeting tentatively scheduled for next week
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County Commissioners met Wednesday night to discuss budgets and their minutes at the start of the year.
District 10 Commissioner Jeff Eversole mentioned his plan to schedule a meeting about the South Broad Projects– which includes Lookout Stadium.
Former meetings claimed the building would be finished next year.
With recent price concerns, Commissioner Eversole proposed a daylight meeting with the commissioners, the city council, and county mayors.
No deliberating, votes, or asking of votes will be required in this meeting.
Eversole said, “There’s mixed communication going out about the cost. Who’s going to absorb the cost… Where’s the cost coming from. So what I’ve taken the lead for the county and said, ‘Hey let’s get it out in front of everybody.’ So I’ve asked Charles Wood who is our Chamber CEO President to set up a meeting. That meeting to be the City Council and the County Commission… Along with mayors and those parties involved. So that we can get together and have a daylight meeting. And in that daylight meeting we can ask a lot of questions. So there’s no deliberating, no votes, no asking of votes or anything. But we can get together as a group with the city, and we can ask questions as it relates to that South Broad projects and we can get everything in the air so when it does come time.. if we need to make a decision and vote, we can make a better decision based off of any answers that we can get in that particular meeting.”
The commissioner told News 12 he is confirming the date of the meeting with all parties involved.
He is inviting multiple members of the community to attend.
It is tentatively scheduled for next week if confirmed by participating parties.
