Hamilton Co. Republican announces bid for state legislature
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Hamilton County Commissioner Greg Martin is both lobbying for and running for Robin Smith’s old seat in the state legislature.
He says if he is appointed by the Commission as the Interim Representative, he will step down from the Commission to serve.
That decision comes in two weeks.
But Martin also announcing he will seek the job permanently by running in the Republican Primary.
Martin has served on the school board for four years before being elected to the County Commission.
