Community honors Bryson Scott with softball tournament

MIDDLE VALLEY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Members of the Soddy Daisy community held a slow pitch softball tournament to benefit the family of Bryson Scott.

Scott died August 9 after an ATV crash the weekend before.

The rising Soddy Daisy freshman loved baseball, so his friends and family honored him today with some bat sport play.

“Soddy Daisy always supports their people,” tournament organizer Amanda Tate said. “And that’s what everybody out here has done. They’ve come to support their own.”

Scott played short stop and pitcher at Loftis Middle.

“It just fills my heart where my heart was broken,” Bryson’s mom Sonya Hudgens said. “Baseball meant the world to Bryson. He was a leader and just his team, it meant the world to him. They held him up and he held them up. He was very competitive and he loved the game.”

Another baseball tournament to benefit the family will be September 2.
