Contreras gets 2 life sentences for rape and kidnapping of ex-girlfriend
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A judge has sentenced 28 year old Ryan Andrew Contreras to a pair of life sentences, one without parole.
He was convicted in February of the abduction and rape of his ex-girlfriend with whom he had two children.
Prosecutors also found two more women who had romantic relationships with Contreras and testified of abuse.
He was also convicted and sentenced for family violence battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.
The jury took just three hours to reach their verdict in February.
After the verdict, Assistant District Attorney Meg Deitz Parker said “This case is the story of a brave young woman speaking up about the abuse she suffered. We discovered it wasn’t just her story but the story of two other young women who had been in romantic relationships with Contreras.”
