Convicted Felon Arrested on Firearm and Drug Charges

DEKALB COUNTY — A 45-year-old convicted felon has been arrested on firearm and drug charges.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, a warrant was executed at a residence at the 800 block of County Road 330 in Ider following an investiation aboout a felon living at the residence who was believed to possess firearms.

Two firearms, marijuana, methamphetamine and steroids were recovered during the search warrant.

Christopher Lane Burks is charged with the following:

  • Certain Persons Forbidden to Posess Firearm (felony warrant)
  • Certain Persons Forbidden to Posess Firearm (x2)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (x4)
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd
  • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
