Convicted rapist, kidnapper and attempted murderer in trouble again

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A Chattanooga man was arrested and charged with several felonies after police say he opened fire on a residence.

Bruce Stevenson, 58, of Chattanooga is being held on a $225,000 bond after being picked up on a warrant on Tuesday.

The arrest stems from a December 31st incident that happened in the 2000 block of Milne Street.

According to police, an officer was dispatched to an apartment to investigate a call about shots being fired.

An occupant of the residence told the officer that Stevenson pulled up in a white Cadillac and began firing a gun at the apartment.

According to police, the front door sustained 10 impacts from bullets.

Stevenson was charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Vandalism
  • Driving on a revoked license

Court records show that Stevenson is a convicted rapist and kidnapper who violated the sex offender registry. Court records also show Stevenson was convicted of attempted first degree murder back in 1998. He was arrested for arson and burglary back in 2007 but those charges were dismissed.
