Country Star Elle King to Release New Album Friday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Country music star Elle King has a new album coming out this Friday.
News 12 caught up with King in Nashville before she performed and co-hosted CBS’ NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE: NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH.
Come Get Your Wife has 13 songs.
Some of them have already been released, including “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Come Home),” “Worth A Shot,” and “Try Jesus.”
Elle also told us that one of the other new songs on the album is about her son, Lucky.
“I don’t think that we set out to, like, write a song about him,” King said. “It just kind of came out, and I wrote it with three writers that helped me write a majority of the album – Ella Langley, Bobby Hamrick and Matt McKinney. And I looked at it like we were writing it on a bus, and we were all crying. And I was like, ‘Oh, this is a good song.’ So, I’m really excited for people to hear it. And it means so much to me. And it’s, it’s more than just about my son. But when people find out that my son’s name is Lucky, it kind of helps tie everything in. So, it’s definitely the most vulnerable song on the record. One of my favorites, and I hope you like it.”
Elle’s new album may be out Friday, but it’s already available for pre-order.
Her “A-Freakin-Men” headline tour kicks off on Valentine’s Day in New Orleans.
