Couple arrested in a car that was reported stolen
Cleveland, TN (WDEF)- This is a news release from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office:
Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson reports deputies from Polk and Bradley County’s took part in efforts Wednesday to apprehend two people who tried to avoid arrest in a B-M-W reported stolen in Murray County Georgia.
Beginning in Polk County where the vehicle was first observed, it crossed over into Bradley County where deputies took up the pursuit.
The chase continued through several east Cleveland neighborhoods. As they slowed for the intersection of Bates Pike and Johnson Boulevard, the female passenger jumped from the vehicle and was taken into custody by deputies without incident.
The driver sped off and continued efforts to elude apprehension, eventually crashing at Lowery Street and Waterlevel Highway. Sheriff Watson praised the deputies of Lt. Tom Wasson’s “B” Shift for their efforts to safely end the situation. ”I’m proud of the fine deputies that handled what was a serious situation…and I’m glad those involved are where they need to be…in jail.”
The male driver ran from the vehicle but was taken into custody. Identified as Joesie Hembree, 31, of Lang Street, he has been charged with Felony Evading, Reckless Endangerment, Driving on a Revoked license, Reckless Driving, and four counts of Running a Stop Sign.
The female was charged with Accessory After the Fact and identified as Alisha F. Greene Donohue, 30, of County Road 611 in Athens.
