Courtney High pleads guilty to murder of witness Bianca Horton

He avoids the death penalty in plea deal

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A suspect in notorious murder case took a plea deal on Wednesday that avoids the death penalty.

Courtney High pleaded guilty to three murders in all from eight years ago.

He admitted to the murders of cousins Jerrica and Marquise Jackson.

But the highest profile case was the murder of Bianca Horton.

She was the young mother who agreed to testify against Cortez Sims, a local gang leader, for shooting and paralyzing her young daughter.

But before she could do that, Horton was shot multiple times and her body left on the side of a road.

Two other suspects were also charged with her murder.

Charles Shelton died from Covid complications in prison and Andre Grier is still awaiting trial.
