Six killed, active shooter at Nashville Covenant School

UPDATE:

Police are now saying three children and three adults were killed in the shooting at this private school.

Authorities state the shooter was a 28-year-old female. She was armed with semi-automatic weapons, authorities say.

They say the shooter died after being shot by police.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Metro Nashville Police responded to an active shooter situation at a school on Monday.

The shooting took place at Covenant School on 33 Burton Hills Blvd.

The Nashville Fire Department said they have multiple patients.

Nashville Police said they engaged with the shooter, who is now dead.

Authorities are advising parents who are meeting their children to go to the Woodmont Baptist Church at 2100 Woodmont Blvd.

The Covenant School is a private, Christian school in Nashville.

It is a Preschool through sixth grade school.
