CPD investigates double shooting near Alton Park

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police are investigating a double shooting incident that occurred Tuesday evening.

At 9:00 p.m. July 30, 2024, CPD received a person shot call located at the 4500 block of Oakland Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they located two victims with gunshot wounds.  One being a 38-year-old female and a minor child.

Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS) transported the woman and child to a local hospital to receive treatment.  The two victims were reported to be in stable condition.

CPD’s Homicide Unit also responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.

Officials say the victims had gotten into an altercation with the
