CPD to hold active shooter drill at Hamilton Place Mall
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police are alerting the public of an upcoming drill at Hamilton Place Mall. This will signify no danger to the public.
The exercise will happen Sunday, June 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is outside normal operating hours. It will not interfere with regular mall access, according to CPD.
This drill will train officers on how to respond in the case of an active shooter.
The public may see lights or sounds during the exercise, but again, it does not signify danger.
“The Chattanooga Police Department is dedicated to the training of its officers so that they will always be prepared to meet any threat that may come to our city,” CPD said.
