Credit Union robbery, carjacking and chase in Hamilton Place area

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga police are looking for suspects following a bank robbery and chase this afternoon in the Hamilton Place area.

It started with the robbery at the Trust Credit Union on Gunbarrel Road.

Two suspects fled the credit union with cash in their getaway SUV.

They headed north on Gunbarrel toward the mall, and then turned left on Jarnigan near the CBL offices and wrecked the jeep.

They left the cash and a tracker at the crash scene, and apparently split up.

One suspect fled on foot across CBL property, crossed I 75 and was captured by officers with dogs on Hickory Lane.

The other apparently carjacked a woman just a few blocks away from the crash scene.

Police are still looking for him in that stolen Lexus.

So far, no one has been hurt in the robbery, carjacking and chases.

Ridgedale Baptist School was locked down during the hunt as a precaution.
