Crossville woman charged with attempted murder after mistaken shooting

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Crossville woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after trying to shoot her ex-boyfriend.

In the morning hours of Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Becca Sparks fired into a vehicle, thinking the driver was her ex-boyfriend.

According to the TBI, Sparks currently has a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Sparks mistakened the driver for her ex-boyfriend.

The shot missed the driver, and Sparks reported the incident to local law enforcement.

Sparks was later arrested and charged with one count of Violation of Order Protection and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.
