Cut the Hate, Share the Love event held Sunday afternoon
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– A local organization, YB Normal, is hoping to cut the hate and share the love…. one helping hand at a time.
Cut The Hate & Share The love was the message an event held Sunday at the Kingdom Center on East MLK Boulevard in Chattanooga.
Organizer Logan Taylor says this event was planned to “make an impact in the community. It’s all about serving with us and we believe that we were put on this earth to help other people accomplish what it is they want to accomplish in life, that was apart of the purpose.”
Participants were able to leave with a bag of clothes, a full stomach, a fresh haircut and so much more Sunday afternoon.
Logan Taylor says that the meaning behind this event put on by the organization, “YB Normal.”
This year they took the outreach a step further by not only taking care of the outside, Dontay Hampton says they care about what’s on the inside as well.
Hampton says, “We added of medical component this year we had bags we also have Erlanger here and you know just educating them on hygiene and how to keep themselves up”
When asked how an event of this magnitude was possible… Taylor says it took a lot of phone calls and favors, but overall the backing of his community to make it happen.
Taylor says, “I asked people who cooked last year you know do you mind cooking for me do you mind giving back and every time everybody said yeah Logan we will be happy to so we will believe that relationships are the new currency and that’s what it’s all about relationships.”
