Dade Co. fire victim succumbs to his injuries

TRENTON, Georgia (WDEF) – 91 year old R. T. Patton has died from the injuries he sustained at a fire last week in Dade County.

Last Tuesday night, firefighters arrived at a home on Walls Circle in the New Home Community to find the structure on fire.

Neighbors reported an explosion before the fire.

Officials say Patton had been working on gas heaters there.

He suffered burns in the fire.

Patton was transferred to a burn center in Nashville the next day.

He succumbed from his burns on Monday.
