Dade County fugitive found hidden, arrested on drug charges

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) —  The Dade County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) have arrested a wanted subject on drug charges.

When returning from a separate drug bust on December 13, 2024, DCSO decided to check a residence on Highway 299 for a wanted subject who has been evading law enforcement.

Upon arrival, deputies saw the suspects vehicle, and requested assistance from other organizations to serve a search warrant.

While waiting for assistance, deputies observed the vehicle leave the residence, traveling towards Marion County.

According to DCSO, the subject at some point turned around, and when he passed all units driving in the opposite direction, deputies observed a female passenger.

The subject began accelerating rapidly when he noticed law enforcement.

Authorities followed him back to the residence, but were unable to locate him on arrival.

DCSO used drone units to confirm the subject was not in the nearby wooded areas.

Authorities were then able to obtain a search warrant for inside the residence.

After getting inside, law enforcement used a Thermal Imaging Camera to locate the subject in a false wall inside a closet.

James Janow Jr was then arrested on 4 Dade County Warrants and one Hamilton County, Tennessee Warrant.

James was also found to be in possession of fentanyl.

He is being charged with Possession of a Schedule 2 Narcotic and Obstruction of Law Enforcement.

April Millard was also arrested and taken into custody on a Warrant out of Jackson County Alabama.

She was also charged of Possession of a Schedule 2 Narcotic, and Hindering the Apprehension of a Fugitive.

The following subjects were also taken into custody for Hindering the Apprehension of a Fugitive:

  • Kimla Tolbert
  • James Janow Sr.
  • James Janow III
